ITW – 2021 : Special Forces Support Group in exercise NightHawk 21

AN/PVS-21 & L4G21

For years the AN/PVS-21 Low Profile Night Vision Goggles have been of the defining traits of the UKSF identity, and most predominantly during the Task Force Black and TF Knight eras. It is quite refreshing to see these come back on SFSG’s kit during exercise NightHawk 21.

Most notably, the LPNVGs are attached to their Ops Core Maritime helmets through the Wilcox L4G21 in its old generation silver lining.

My own, ex-UKSF, L4G21 as a comparison.

New barrel profile for the L119A1

The 15.7″ barrel has been a staple of the L119A1’s iconic look since the very beginning. Specifically, the “Simon sleeve” pressed up at the front of the barrel gave it that very Diemaco rifle look.

Fast forward to 2021 with exercise Nighthawk, and surprise the sleeve isn’t there anymore. A minor detail, yet a very interesting one for those of you wanting to nail that end of life look for the A1.

MWS and NGRS owners can use the Angry Gun L119A2 barrel kit to clone this specific end of life L119A1.

ISTEC SBFA

Interestingly enough, the L119A1 are using the ISTEC Safe Blank Firing Attachment (SBFA) initially designed for the Steyr AUG rifle.

Foreword

After years of posting my nitpicking on cloning real rifles and reenacting specific regiments on multiple social media platforms, it was time that I regroup it all in one place.

You'll find here everything I posted about on my Instagram : clone projects, kits, in the wild spotting and books I've read.

As a bonus, there will be a few complete guides on specific familly of rifles.
