While the rifle itself isn&#8217;t that specific as it&#8217;s an early Arctic Warfare rifle, the photos are more than scarce.  Selected to replace the older Precision Marksman as the main 7.62 bolt action sniper rifle for both SAS and SBS, the L118A1 was named after it&#8217;s main intended use : the Counter Terrorism Sniper Rifle.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"774\" src=\"https:\/\/thekitchat.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-793\" style=\"width:514px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thekitchat.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image.png 800w, https:\/\/thekitchat.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-300x290.png 300w, https:\/\/thekitchat.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-768x743.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>The secret squirrel aura of the CTSR still extends to this day as even the remaining number of rifles in storage is considered prejudicial.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-superb-addons-text-align-justify\">While this project is still underway as I need to source an AI small side accessory rail and the iconic picatinny bubble level, I&#8217;m already happy of where it stands for now as a fully working clone.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The unsuppressed marvel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-superb-addons-text-align-justify\">The real L118A1 can swap between fully suppressed and normal barrel depending on the situation. Choosing which to portray was a tough choice between the easy-ish way (Tokyo Marui&#8217;s AWS and its suppressed barrel) and  the hell march that is finding an uncorrectly named Tanaka L96 with its tapered barrel. While the usual riding height can be fine-tuned, so is the angle. The pad can lean from left to right.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-superb-addons-text-align-justify\">Contrary to most modern precision rifles the stock lengh can&#8217;t be adjusted on the fly. Instead, a set of spacers can be used. The one that fit me best was the 40mm one.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The L118A1 is like a fluorescent condom.
